Here are some photos of two activities that I’ve led at the CWC Superhero camp this week are super logo design and an application to the Evil League of Evil (taking inspiration from Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog).
For the logo, the students had to do a rough a design, illustrate a final copy, and, then, they got paint their logo on a T-shirt.
After the logo design, we worked on a project to create super villain characters and then write an application letter to the Evil League of Evil. Some of the students really took a creative approach to this assignment by adding application forms and other artwork.
The student below illustrated her application letter on an old piece of “worm-bitten” cardboard.
This is one of my favourite assignments because it has a very creative aspect while at the same time teaching the proper and formal way of writing a letter.
